Using J&M TIDAS® Instruments in the Restauration of Historic Pieces of Art
The spectrometer is used for characterization of the colors used in the piece of art. The spectrum is then compared with a library. This system for color analysis consists of a light source, a measurement head and a TIDAS® spectrometer.
For color analysis usually the VIS-range (360 to 780nm) is sufficient. The use of fiber optics allows the use of a variety of different sample holders like for example reflection measuring heads. The instrumentation is modular and the ideal configuration can be determined according to the application at hand.
